The Anxious Traveler

I was poking around on various streaming services this afternoon after a day of writing when I discovered a show now in its second season. When I tell you it is new to me, you will know that I don't listen to NPR on a regular basis, and I'm not an avid viewer of Apple TV+. Having said that, I do have several redeeming qualities, one of them being the ability to spot a kindred spirit. As a result, I was delighted to discover The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy.
The fact that he is reluctant does not make him anxious, so we may not be true soul mates. However, the fact that he is not running off to explore a continent with half a toothbrush and organic soap shavings in an ultra-light backpack does give me reason to hope. And, while I'm being completely open here, I at first thought this might be the person who wrote a recent article about his time on the Icon of the Sea in The Atlantic, but that was Gary Shteyngart.
Anyway, The Reluctant Traveler (TRT) is now in its second season. I'm as thrilled as when I discover an author has already written several books in a series before I discover it. For the time it takes to devour those books, I have no other responsibility than to show up and read. Sort of like Steve Jobs wearing the same thing every day to reduce decision fatigue, only far less significant yet infinitely better. As I mentioned, Season 2 is in progress, but I'm starting at the beginning of Season 1.
First up - Finland. After that? Costa Rica, Venice, and Utah. Yes. Utah. I'm not quite sure what makes Utah an obvious choice, but I'm going to find out!
